There are two versions of Shiva sahasranama-one in lInga Purana (Being taught by Lord Krishna to sage Markandeya) and the other which occurs in Anushasanika Parva of Mahabaratha. Translation and transliteration By P.R.Ramachander Shiva Sahasranamam – Thousand names of Lord Shiva from Mahabaratha I shall post a link to his complete translation of Shiva Sahasranama as below. I have immense respect on a devotee Mr.Ramachander who does seva by translating various Hindu Mantra and Sloka. Shiva Sahasranamam is the sacred thousands names of Lord Shiva. Before I went to this temple, the goddess came in my dream. In 2009, when I went to Vaitheeswaran Temple near Chidambaram in Tamilnadu, I offered a garland to the Goddess. Goddess Parvathi in the form of Thaiyal Nayagi Amman giving darshan between the holy head of Nandhi I truly feel very divine in my chest when I go to Shiva temples and also when I listen to his sacred Mantra.I shall show you a Photo I took of Lord Shiva in the form of Vaitheeswaran taken during Kumbabishekam of the temple. I have read in the sacred book of Saint Shri Padha Sri Vallabha that a devotee who worships Lord Shiva and Partvathi during evenings and especially during the evening of Pradosham that comes on Saturday, their sins will be washed away. In 2005, I used to regularly visit Shiva temples during pradosham and if its a Pradosham that comes on Saturday, its very auspicious.
In our colony itself they have built Vaidheeswaran temple with Goddess Thaiyalnayagi Amman and now a days my father and his friends are doing Seva in the temple most of their time. Every morning he does Abishekam for a Shiva Lingam in our house with water and regularly visits the near by Shiva temple called Virundheeswarar temple.
Therefore, Krishna did not marry Radha. My Father is my inspiration for worshiping Lord Shiva from my childhood. Incidentally, this event happened soon after Lord Brahma asked Krishna to take birth on earth as the ninth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Thus, by saying so, he sent her to the Patal Loka for hundred years. One day, Shridhama was so furious with Radha that he cursed her by saying that she would lose her memory and forget all about Krishna. Therefore, he did not want people to take Radha's name before Krishna's. Shridhama was a friend and a devotee of Shri Krishna, who believed that Bhakti (devotion) is higher than Prem (live). Radha and Krishna were separated because of Shridhama's curse. Hence, since she had united with him, there arose no need for marriage.Īnd if another legend associated with Radha and Krishna is anything to go by, then the two couldn't get married because of separation. And therefore, she merged into Shri Krishna by surrendering herself. Radha's selfless love was the highest form of devotion. Therefore, when Krishna and Radha were one, how could they marry?Īccording to another belief, Radha represented Jeevatma while Shri Krishna is the Paramatma. According to one of the philosophies, Radha and Krishna were never two entities. Therefore, devotees wonder why Krishna never married Radha, whom he loved so much, and the one who was in love with him. Instead, he married Rukmini and Satyabhama. And during his stay in the Prithvi Loka, Shri Krishna did not marry Radha. Interestingly, Lord Vishnu took birth on earth as Krishna to eliminate the demon-king named Kansa, and eventually gift the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, the representative of the humankind.
Therefore, Radha and Krishna's names are uttered in one breath, as if they are not different but one entity.
And yet, devotees either hail Radha or take Krishna's name as RadheKrishna, meaning Radha's Krishna. Mathura, Vrindavan and the adjoining Gokul regions are a part of the Braj Bhoomi associated with the early life of Shri Krishna. Mathura is Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi, meaning the place where Lord Krishna took birth.
